once upon a time, in the 1860s, there lived a very sad woman. she might have been a queen but that didn't help. her daughters had been taken away from here one after the other in her husband's mad quest for a son. you see his councilor had said that only an empty nest makes a hen lay and so her nest was kept empty. from the time she was 17 until her death thirty years later.every time she had a child it was a girl and every time she was taken from her. she had seven daughters and when she gave birth to her seventh and saw that it too was a girl, she went mad. the king divorced her then and she died forgottena nd alone (as she had always been alone) in a village far from the royal palace.
