afternoon and morning

in front of my daughter's elementary school...

... there is an old resevoir surrounded by trees. in days gone by this resevoir fed into the chateau de chantilly's fountains but today it's empty. i took this first photo when i dropped off my dughter this morning and the seond one when i picked her up this afternoon.

oh, how far away it all seems now...

...it's been almost a month since me and the trusty cellphone returned from our carribean adventures and already it seems like a distant dream. the daily grind of life so quickly erases things, leveling the peaks and filling in the troughs. like working on an assembly line, if i may reference an idea from magic mountain, a day lasts a month and a month a day. such is our everyday life.
